Our Mission: Empowering Communities, Changing Lives
The Get To® Foundation continues Ben Jones’ legacy of inspiring others to consider obligations and obstacles as opportunities. By providing resources to communities, teams and individuals, we encourage others to shift their perspective from “Have To” to "Get To."
We believe in providing scholarships and resources to help individuals achieve their dreams and reach their full potential.
Our initiatives inspire generosity, collaboration, and a sense of gratitude for the chance to make a difference.
WE GET TO INSPIRE
Get To® Foundation Speaker Series Featuring Austin Hatch
After surviving two plane crashes and experiencing unimaginable loss, Austin Hatch spent months in a coma and had to relearn how to walk and talk.Through his G.R.I.T. (Growth Mindset, Resilience, Integrity, and Team First) framework, he fought his way back to achieve his dream of playing basketball at the University of Michigan.
Today, he shares a message of resilience, perspective, and purpose. Join us to learn more about the Get To Foundation and hear Austin’s inspiring message.
We are bringing the We “Get To” Inspire Speaker Series to Detroit and Grand Rapids this fall!

The difficult part of what we are doing as a foundation is explaining to others what we actually want to give because it is not something tangible. It’s not just a gift, a scholarship, a pair of shoes, etc. Sure, we are giving these things to help remove barriers of participation, but foundations for those things already exist. So why us? What we want to share is an outlook and viewpoint on life that people tend to be blind to, a reminder to take notice of the good that surrounds us.

In a world where the focus leans toward the negative, “Get To” is a prescription that is in high demand in today’s society. This phrase “Get To” is simple yet powerful—it encourages people to shift their mindset toward the positive. I was fortunate that Ben Jones was a major part of instilling that outlook in my life. Unfortunately for the world, Ben is no longer here to do that for others. That is why we created Get To™ Foundation, so Ben’s legacy and way of life may flourish through our communities and inspire the generations to come.

"Get To” can mean so many things based on our own interactions with it. Just 5 letters, 2 words—that’s it, but a lifetime full of inspiration! When I hear “Get To,” an image of Ben always pops into my head. I get a feeling of hope, a want to go into battle, and a drive to take something on with enthusiasm. To those of you who didn’t know Ben or were unable to spend much time with him, maybe there is no image or burn of desire—but after reading this, we hope we can help you find your “Get To” motivation.

As a loving son and a trusted friend, a hard-working football player who loved the game at Muskegon Catholic Central High School and Hillsdale College; and a dedicated coach who inspired young athletes at Cranbrook Kingswood High School, Ben Jones always encouraged others with his unwavering "Get To" attitude.
