Meet Our Scholarship Recipients
Since our inception, we have awarded $120,000 in scholarships to 91 deserving students across the state of Michigan. We are eager to grow those totals!
With our contributions to each student's continued education or training, we aim to empower each scholarship recipient to continue to live with a "Get To" mentality and encourage younger students to adopt this powerful perspective they can apply to their daily lives.

Our scholarship reception welcomed in the Class of 2025 Scholarship Recipients with a social hour, dinner, awards presentations, and a powerful challenge to continue to live the Get To message!
Get To® Foundation was founded, to continue Ben Jones’ legacy of inspiring others to consider obligations and obstacles as opportunities. By providing resources to communities, teams and individuals we encourage others to shift their perspective from “have to” to “Get To.”
Our scholarship program was founded to support and identify talented high school seniors across the state of Michigan who demonstrate tremendous character, dedication to their studies, commitment to their teammates, leadership amongst their peers, service to their community, and a "Get To" attitude in every aspect of their life. With our contributions to each student's continued education or training, we aim to empower each scholarship recipient to continue to live with a "Get To" mentality and encourage younger students to adopt this powerful perspective they can apply to their daily lives.
This year our scholarship committee will award thousands of dollars in scholarship awards to deserving applicants. We look forward to being part of each student's "Get To" journey and invite students to apply to be considered for this year's scholarship awards!

Scholarship Renewability
Scholarship Winners are eligible to apply for renewal of their awards for up to 3 additional years after their initial award.
For example, a scholarship award of $500 could be renewed a maximum of 3 times for a total scholarship award of $2000 over 4 years ($500 per successful renewal).
2026 Get To® Scholarship Details
Eligibility
Only Students Currently Enrolled at a Michigan High School Eligible for Awards
Graduating Senior
Must have participated in a sport for at least three years
Must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher
Must align with the Get To® motto and philosophy
Should be community involved, donate time to charities or causes, and demonstrate other leadership capabilities
Must receive nomination from high school Athletic Director or school Administrator (i.e. Principal, Vice Principal, etc.)
Please apply with an email that is accessible for the next 5 years
Requirements of Scholarship Winners
Scholarship Winners must attend at least one Get To® event each year they receive scholarship funds.
Scholarship Winners must be willing to participate in our Student Ambassador program. Details regarding the Student Ambassador program will be released soon!

Scholarship Renewability
Scholarship Winners are eligible to apply for renewal of their awards for up to 3 additional years after their initial award.

Scholarship Nomination Form
In order to be eligible for scholarship consideration, each applicant must receive a nomination from either their Athletic Director or a school Administrator (i.e. Principal, Vice Principal, etc.)

Scholarship checks are mailed to recipients’ designated college/university in August 2026, and are made payable to the institution. Checks will not be made payable to the individual recipient. Recipients will be asked to provide mailing information on their Scholarship Acceptance Form. All required information must be received by July 31, 2026, so that check processing can be initiated on time.

No, though they will receive the full amount of the award during their freshman year unless alternate disbursement is otherwise requested. The recipient and their college or university may decide how much of the amount to apply toward their freshman year. Any requests to change the disbursement amount must be received by July 31, 2025.

Funds may be used at a U.S. college or university, military institute, or trade school. Funds can be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, course materials and supplies from the campus bookstore.

Yes, each student will have the opportunity to reapply for scholarship renewal every year, for up to 4 years.

Yes, however the funds must be claimed within four years. Requests to defer must be made by emailing scholarships@GetToFoundation.org by July 31, 2026. If requests are not made by the deadline, the check will be issued for the full amount of the scholarship in August 2026
